20 Francs Tunisia Gold Coin – Ruler Ali Bey – 1892

“The 20 Francs Gold coins were produced from 1891 to 1904. This 20 Francs gold coin from Tunisia is in a circulated state and was minted in the year 1892 at the Paris Mint. It has been well received since its release and each year brings a new market of buyers/collectors for this coin. The coin’s obverse depicts an image of Ali Bey who ruled Tunisia from 1837 to 1855 along with its denomination and production date. On the reverse, you will find an Arabic inscription at the top that translates into “Union of the [Islamic?] States”.

This is comprised of 21.6 karat gold and has a diameter of 21mm. The 20 Francs gold coins were only produced at the Paris mint and were nominally produced until 1904, however, pre-1904 20 franc gold coins are scarce.”
